0STORY
Martin the Dragon was dying. So it was that he had his son, nephew, future daughter-in-law, jester and a couple dozen nobles gathered for the reading of his will.
DRAMATIS PERSONAE
MARTIN THE DRAGON: Ontarian Emperor and Head of the House of Carthach, Martin's health has been in decline for many years. Now with his final spring here, he wished to see the conflicts between the Houses of Carthach and Boru end with the marriage of his son Bryan Croi-Dragon to the Princess Aphrodite of Dazet before he dies.
BRYAN CROI-DRAGON: The only child of Emperor Martin and Empress Margaret, Bryan is a valorous and courageous prince who cares for his people but has a reckless disposition and is something of a thrill-seeker. His courage and prowess may be beyond comparison but he has a tendency to put his love of adventure ahead of his subjects' well-being.
PRINCESS APHRODITE: The cousin of the current King of Dazet, Aphrodite comes from the House of Boru, enemy of the House of Carthach. Seeking to end the conflicts, Martin and the King of Dazet have arranged a marriage between Bryan and Aphrodite but is there anything between the two?
THOMAS MAC AN COCKATRICE: The son of Joanne the Cockatrice, Martin's sister, Thomas is a power-hungry and greedy villain with a tenacious desire for the throne. He worships Lok, an evil half-giant.
CLOTEN: Jester of Martin's court.
TRIVIA
The set is inspired by King Lear's palace as illustrated by Ian Pollock in his full-text graphic novel adaptation of "King Lear."
Due to my mic being broken, I have decided to assign voices to the characters unless I ever get asked by people to voice a character and even then that is unlikely. For Martin picture Brian Blessed's voice, for Bryan Croi-Dragon picture Kenneth Branagh's, for Aphrodite's picture Emma Thompson's, for Thomas' picture Tom Hiddleston's and for Cloten's, when he does get lines, picture Robbie Coltrane.
MYTHOLOGY
VOTON: The great Allfather of the Gods; God of Battle; the House of Carthach is descended from him.
THORION: The mighty son of Voton, the Lord of Thunder; the house of Carthach is descended from him.
LOK: Voton's evil cousin, a half-giant who hinders the gods.
