Young Thug appeared in court with other members in his YSL RICO case for a bond hearing on Thursday (June 2), where 300 Ent. co-founder Kevin Liles took the stand to vouch for Young Thug.
While on the stand, Liles shed tears while stating, "I'm kind of emotional because of how good this guy is. I'm willing to back him personally and professionally." He added, "This whole thing that people are talking about, it’s not him. The Jeffery I know, he’ll give me the clothes off his back. The Jeffery I know, I can give him my kids and he’ll give me his kids."
Young Thug's attorney also proposed strict home confinement conditions if the rapper were given bond. This includes 24-hour police surveillance, drug testing, visitors patted down, dog searches, and video footage of the property at all times. Kevin Liles stated that he would put up the proposed $1 million that the security would cost after a prosecutor asked, "The court could have you signed as a cosigner on that bond and you would actually have a lien against your wealth if Mr. Williams violates condition body. You still willing to do that?" Liles stated, "He's like a son to me. Yes, without hesitation."
Young Thug was ultimately denied bond during the hearing. Prosecutors argued that Young Thug is the head of YSL, adding that he's "the top dog, the most dangerous man here, because he doesn't have to get his hands dirty, he has others to do his business." They added that they had "statements from YSL gang members that he 'is dangerous, they are afraid of him, that if they cross him he will kill them and their family,'" and that "he is the one they're all afraid of, he's the one that's King Slime, he's pulling the shots."
