4While joining a game, I hit the G button thinking it was the waiting for more players phase... turns out that it was the build phase and someone else hit the G button. This resulted in our builder frantically building up the defenses as fast as they could. Unfortunately in the chaos, 2 of the lanes had no blockades. So we are now protecting a lane without a wall.... oops my bad :P

Dungeon Defenders was one of my favourite Tower Defense games, I was really excited to hear that Dungeon Defenders 2 was released!
The goal of Dungeon Defenders 2 is to protect the objective from waves of enemies. Not only can you build towers, traps, and walls, you can also get dirty by taking the invaders out yourself. You can start of playing some of the basic yet powerful heroes like the Squire, Huntress, Monk, or the Apprentice. Or you can save up your coins and gems for the Abyss Lord, Lavamancer, EV2, Mystic, or the Gunwitch. You can also play as the Dryad from Terraria. Once you complete the campaign, you can start playing Chaos mode, which has stronger enemies with different abilities.
For those wonder, my favourite Dungeon Defenders 2 character is the Lavamancer. Not only can the Lavamancer summon a volcano that has massive range, but he can buff Defense Power and is a tank.
If you are just getting started with Dungeon Defenders 2 then I suggest that you first character is either the Apprentice or the Squire. Both the Apprentice and the Squire can build blockades, which are walls, that will greatly help you in your defense.

Create a Team of Heroes

Shoot and Loot
Leap into battle and get your hands dirty! Grab a sword, a bow or a laser shotgun to blast through hordes of enemies. As you play, you'll find loot and Shards to equip and customize your heroes with. Just beware of the goblin blood. As much as you scrub, the smell never goes away.

In your journey, you'll visit ancient forests, massive castles, haunted temples, active volcanoes, and a surprisingly small number of dungeons for a game named Dungeon Defenders II.
