NOTE: The reason this video is titled "Proto SSSkillplay" is because it's kind of a predecessor to my Mortal SSSkillplay series, but doesn't feature the same stringent emphasis on quality that I would put on "true" Mortal SSSkillplays. I would never upload something with THIS many deaths in a single fight in Hostile Takeover or the final boss today, for example. I do kinda plan to redo and replace this video with a proper SSSkillplay video at some point. The original description follows.

This is a special project that's been YEARS in the cards, the original thing I wanted to record before I started uploading to YouTube, and is now finally a reality: A full playthrough of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the hardest difficulty released on Independence Day.

Let me make something clear: I love action games, but by no means am I AMAZING at them, not at all. I'm pretty mid in fact, and there are plenty of mechanics I've not got a good grasp on, like perfect parries, effective use of defensive-offensive, dodge offset, and smart application of blade mode canceling. I'm making this video in part for people who don't play character action games because they think that they "aren't good enough." The people who say, "oh, I couldn't possibly memorize all those combos." My brother in Christ, I don't have ANY combos memorized, I just mash and use what feels good and right in the moment. Watch this video and you'll see me stumble and bumble, have stupid deaths of all stripes as I make my way to the finish line: But I do it, and I even do it with a little style of my own. Even if I'm just getting a B rank overall, I'm doing something I once thought was impossible for me, and I hope that seeing someone like that do it will inspire you to try it yourself.

And for those of you with no interest in playing the game or Revengeance mode, this is for you, too: I don't skip any cutscenes, and I do explain some basic mechanics as I go, so this can be a good longplay-as-service if you want maybe a taste of what the Revengeance experience is like without playing it yourself. #metalgearrising #metalgearrisingrevengeance #actiongames #longplay #revengeancestatus
