Found some old footage of one of the proxmox clusters that i setup, from june 01, 2019. thought i'd share it.
Proxmox is a free open source debian based (KVM / QEMU) hypervisor, a great alternative to ESXI, with great high availability features and in much better than ESXI. Esxi does have a slight performance boost compared to proxmox, but proxmox being completely free (up to 400 servers or so), and with free HA (including live migration) it's great.
When this was set up, proxmox and ceph was buggy as hell, but things have gotten significantly better these past two years.
It took about a month to setup, including a complete cluster failure due to a bug and including trying openstack and that being complete garbage, but the second one i built took only a few days.
i now use proxmox for all of my server setups. it is a real game changer.
