PS VITA TV - Essential Part of the Playstation Family?

56Sony just announced their latest device, PS Vita TV. The PS Vita TV will support remote play with the PS4, stream media (movies, tv shows) and play Playstation Vita games. Could the Vita TV be an essential part of the Playstation family? (PS4/Vita)
As of right now the PS Vita TV has only been announced for Japan but I'm hoping other territories will get their hands on this little white box too!
