I set the controller configure to set #3. Might be 4, pretty sure it is 3. I am using buttons to box and the right thumb stick for haymaker punches. The default control settings use the right thumb stick for "Total Punch Control" I prefer buttons. I also turned off the mini game between rounds where you can heal your fighter by rotating a cold metal thing on his face, and use a cotton swab for cuts. I just let it auto heal. I also turned off the announcer voice.
