If you downloaded the games from official PlayStation Store, then your games should not disappear, at least mine did not disappear. All installed games, music, videos, photos, save files, etc are as they were before the update. If your games were unofficial games and your PS3 is a hacked or custom firmware PS3, then it is possible that Sony has removed them through update. Please contact official Sony PS3 support of your region (US/EU/UK/Asia etc.) by using the links on this page- https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/support.html

** Black screen after update-
According to Dave-
"After I did the update the PS3 was black blank screen. I heard the restart sound though so I knew it was done. I restarted it again and was still blank. So I went to safe mode and rebuild database and everything worked again."
How to enter safe mode- " When the PS3 is off, hold power button for 8 seconds, hook USB controller, pick # 5 rebuild database."
** Problem solution of 'Connect Storage Media to PS3'-
