Heavenly Sword features 2 (level specific) playable characters; one that uses a sword and knives on chains and one that uses a bow-n-arrow. The sword character seen here gets to use the SIXAXIS control again by picking up and throwing objects laying around levels like shields and swords on the ground in relatively close quarters and close quarters combat situations (nice addition, not really used by me, but you can throw them and not really aim also) shield and swords are also used for a couple puzzle solving - open a doorway section. Not a deep puzzle solving game though, just pick up and throw sort of situations. That, along with the bow-n-arrow character levels give the SIXAXIS good use and add another level of depth. The sword combat and level design is pretty top notch also.

The quick aiming and general accuracy of throwing the shields and swords gets interesting cause you don't have a long time to line things up like seen here with the cannon balls traveling far distances. The SIXAXIS really shines as seen here in this video and with the bow-n-arrow character levels; where the enemy reacts to the impact of arrows. Shoot one and it glides off a far distance, (can also be shot without having to see it and aim it through the air) but hold down and aim it into an enemy neck, head, chest, or leg and they will react accordingly. Good stuff. Be cool to do it with the MOVE controller.

When in combat swinging the heavenly sword on an enemy you can also "shake" the controller up and down quickly for what is called After Touch, doing so does some sort of special combat move continuation, ala a finisher type of move or more damage depending.
