PS3 Update 4.25 Firmware Responsible for Scrambling and Freezing? Any other ideas?
3It's pretty impossible to describe, so I think the video speaks for itself.
What I can say is this:
1.) I thought it might be the game, but the scrambling WILL happen outside of the games. It happened to me several times while trying to back up my system and in the XMB. Thankfully I was able to back up 100% after a couple of hours without it scrambling and freezing on me. That would be a disaster. I suppose that doesn't help with the stupid system-locked save files for this game though.
2.) I DID format the system to factory settings, and the problem still persisted.
3.) It has happened to me while playing Sound Shapes, so I don't think the problem is isolated to physical medium games.
4.) It doesn't matter if I use HDMI or component. The problem still occurs.
It always happens eventually. The thing I have noticed is time. I can usually play for about 10-15 minutes after about a day of not playing and I can get some progress on my game done. If I try to play it again shortly after it freezes and crashes, then I will restart the system and barely make it out of the XMB before it starts to scramble... AGAIN.
Does anybody know what causes this? A broken video card? A broken HDD?
I bought my PS3 slim a little over a year ago (coincidence...?) to replace my OG 60 GB because it wouldn't read discs anymore. Now I am stuck with two unplayable PS3s. I am unlucky here.
