The ONLY way to avoid the 8 to 10 min timeout using an Xbox One/360 controller is by using a USB and it has to be one with 4 ports. You also have to make sure that it is plugged in correctly. The PS4 has to be plugged in to the one closest to the usb's main cable and then the Xbox controller goes into the last USB or the one furthest from the 4.
