I play the game on two accounts, my main for the actual single player game, my alt to test things in admin mode, as I don't want to taint my save with whatever I messed around with as admin. When my main's single player game wouldn't save, I opened a ticket with funcom. They, however, were utterly useless and lazy and pushed the matter on to Sony. Having worked in IT myself for far too many years, I knew from the troubleshooting I did myself that it was highly unlikely that the issue lied with my hardware. No other game, out of over 150!, had this issue which persisted even after a factory reset of the console. So it was clear it was something stored on funcom servers, which was made obvious when I noticed that after the factory reset the single player game did not start with default server settings.
So the solution for me was to delete all saves on both accounts and reinstall the game and keep the 'allow family sharing' turned on (both my accounts had it turned off at first).
