Knives seem to have a tougher time glitching out the bridge, but they're very consistent when aimed at the very edge.

For those seeking clear written instructions, here you go:
Head to the area shown (Hennigan's Stead, below the letter G), find the little bridge intersection, and identify the east-west bridge. You can be on the bridge or off it. If standing at the intersection and facing the bridge (looking east), you can throw tomahawks at the right side of the first few planks, sticking the bridge to the ground and glitching it out. You can also throw knives, though they seem to work most effectively when aimed at the far right edge, on the other side of the rope (which is also convenient for avoiding accidentally picking them up).
