Pristine Danmaku Hell

This spell is quite something. From phase 3 onward it is some of the most intense reading in touhou. This spell is a pure test of dodging and endurance. It's really difficult, probably the most difficult attack in touhou. Every attempt was done from phase 1 and personally I think doing phase 1 attempts can be helpful to some degree. I definitely improved a lot at this spell doing phase 1 attempts over phase 3. That being said, there's definitely a limit to how much you can get out of phase 1 attempts and I think I hit that limit a while ago. At this point doing phase 1 attempts would just be a waste of time and phase 3 attempts would be more helpful. But I definitely burnt myself out after grinding this spell so much. I originally wanted my Master cap to be Junko LNN but I could tell just from doing some attempts at it that Junko LNN was way further out of reach than I thought and that killed the little motivation I had so I just decided to end this for now. I do plan to get Junko LNN at some point.

Spell History:
0/0 - 1/1042 (0.095%)
1/1042 - 23/2159 (1.9%)
----------------------------------------------
INTERLUDE
0/0 - 100/1134 (8.8%)
-----------------------------------------------
23/2159 - 45/2359 (11%)
45/2359 - 50/2424 (7%)
50/2424 - 60/2491 (14%)
60/2491 - 70/2531 (25%)
70/2531 - 80/2602 (14%)
80/2602 - 90/2665 (15%)
90/2665 - 100/2710 (22%)

The interlude is where I made a 2nd score file and did Master starting from Phase 3. This was after I had gotten Master in HBCB so I was a much MUCH better player than I used to be. In the end my caprate was all over the place.

General Strategy:
Reds are really good at catching you off guard when trying to read the purples since they're often disregarded. You want to read those since they're the most vertical bullets you'll be dealing with and often times form your path to take.

Purples are really good at getting in the way. They like to block your gaps and come at you from really bizarre angles. They're what you want to be focused on the most since they're the most threatening part of this spell. Do your best to predict where they'll end up and move accordingly. Don't be afraid to use your space in phase 3. Losing a bit of damage to survive is fine.

Blues are quicker than the rest and force you to go to certain spots but are the easiest to read. Your goal with these is being able to read where they'll be without needing to focus much attention on them at all. They're often what kills newer players the most since they have trouble reading them and thus not being able to pay attention to the actual threatening stuff.

Finally the Jellybeans are just there to limit your space and very rarely cause you to get walled. I've found I get walled a lot during the death explosion for no reason. This phase can sometimes be really friendly but most of the time it's the hardest part of the spell.

I recommend reading in the order of Red, Purple, Blue. Reds form your initial path, Purples get in the way and force you to move a lot, and the Blue force you to specific spots. You want to know where the purples are going before you get into position for the blues since it can be really easy to screw yourself over. Also do some phase 1 attempts every once in a while.
