Welcome to Let's Play Saturday, where I play a variety of video games and talk about their history, development, gameplay, and fandoms.
When I won the Hyperkin RetroN 5 console from @MatCaveGaming's live stream a few weeks ago, I knew a couple of things. First, I knew I was going to thank him at every possible opportunity (thanks again, man!). Second, I knew I was going to have to start actually purchasing and collecting retro games (oh boy $$$). And finally, I knew I wasn't going to do a live stream with it until I'd acquired no less than FOUR Spider-Man games for it--and I finally have!
After combing some local retro game shops and going online, I've got my lineup, one game for each slot in the console! (and yes, I know, only one game can be in the console at a time) The Spider-Man games we'll be playing are:
Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SEGA Genesis)
Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six (NES)
The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes (SNES)
Ultimate Spider-Man (GBA)
I've tested each game in the console to make sure it works, but aside from that, not played them since acquisition. Let's break in the Hyperkin RetroN 5, in good old classic retro Spider-Man style!
