Description:

I put together a 'Bare bones' team for taking on the master difficulty of the Water War Dragon by viewer request. This should give you an idea of how to build for it.

As the strategy tips above show, many of the members of my team can be substituted for different monsters. The important things are:

Blue resist leader
A way to break defense (preferably Light or Dark Golem)
A way to safely one-shot nuke the boss after breaking defense.

Strategy:

1. You need a way of dealing with the dragon's 103,333 defense and 22,205 HP. If you have a Dark/Light Golem, the 75% defense break makes it such that a direct hit of ~50,000 is enough. Here are some monsters capable of securing victory with this combo:

a. Wind Mechdragon Canopus
b. Ancient Wood Dragon Lagavulin
c. Mid-Level Green Odin
d. Dual-Element Ogres which damage Blue enemies.

2. A leader which resists blue damage is preferred. It does not have to be Fortoytops! Crystal Aurora Dragon is fine if you have the Red/Green Dual Element Ogre instead of the Blue/Green one like me. That way you could switch out Echidna for the Ogre and keep a pure blue leader.

3. A Heaven Neptune friend is HIGHLY recommended for the Blue/Light resist. Keep in mind though that even with Echidna's boost, relying on Neptune's poison to kill the boss may not work. Your Neptune needs at least 1111 ATK to kill the boss in the four turns Echidna gives you before the dragon nullifies all status effects.

4. With dual blue resists (Heaven Neptune friend, Blue resist leader), the rest of the dungeon should be a cakewalk. Just slot in your highest stat team members of the missing colors and you're good to go.
