And now, it's the sequel to Puzzle Bobble! Some new bubbles are introduced here, a plain one which can't be popped normally by other bubbles, and a special bubble called the Star Bubble which removes all of the one color that touches it. Additionally, bubbles for VS modes get new designs, while Puzzle mode keeps the original designs.
The Puzzle Game mode has been expanded significantly. Instead of having all levels played in one order, you can choose the next levels to play through a zone map like in Darius. Each zone has 5 rounds, and there are 27 zones, making a total of 135 stages in this mode. But, you can only play up to six zones in one game, meaning that the most amount of stages you can play here is 30, like in the first Puzzle Bobble. Since there are different endings for each zone, the replay value can increase similarly to the Darius games.
