Tonight we reach a rather exciting conclusion to Season 2 of my playthrough of the Long Dark Sandbox Survival. Welcome to the Last 30 for this mini-series. We'll traverse the Crumbling highway and loot along the way, try our hand at a little spelunking, and hopefully come out the other side into Desolation point - a coastal cliffside region with breath-taking vistas, scenic architecture (this is leading into a realtor's joke you'll see later in the video), and friendly wildlife - well... they'd like to get very acquainted with your soft fleshy bits with their long teeth and claws. Tonight's episode pushes deep into overtime, but ends up with exploratory victory as I reward you with a lofty view from the top... of what you might ask? Watch and see for yourself!

Parts of the proceeds go towards Canadian wildlife and forestry conservation too - a noble effort for a game developer. Keep the wild, look wild I suppose. I can appreciate that having frequented Kodiak Island, Alaska a few times in my life (heck, I may retire there some day).

So as for my video series, I'll spare the storyline mode since it's been covered at length and ad nauseum by many gamers and reviewers alike, but as a gamer guy, a gun guy, a tinkerer, and an outdoorsman, my inner geek would love to share with you the sandbox survival mode in this game. The experiences you have in this game are not guaranteed to be a survival technique mind you, however some of the basics of survival are very well covered in it - such as basic orienteering, and weight management, and the importance of watching your caloric intake - real "common sense" kinda stuff if you ever find yourself out in the wild. I'll take you as far as I can in a 5-part mini-series and hopefully get us at least off of one map into the next area.
