Qobo by Robobloq - Intelligent Programmable Snail (STEAM) Watch Before You Buy
OurWatch Before You Buy series helps parents and educators choose the best educational tools for home and school.
Qobo by Robobloq is an early education robot set aimed at children from 3 to around 8 years of age.
The set consists of Qobo (a friendly snail robot), 30 programming cards, a map and a manual (Play Boook) with instructions and sample lessons.
Qobo can be used by younger kids with just programming cards (no other devices as phones or tablets are required), while older kids can try programming it using a computer (Robobloq provides special programming environment on their website).
There are 2 play modes:
- free mode - user places Qobo on a programming card with a given command to scan it (or multiple cards if they want to create a sequence or a simple program), then Qobo moves, makes sounds or changes its color according to the 'program'
- game mode - user has arrange the cards on the map in a correct sequence to solve 'quests' (simple coding problems) from the Play Book.
Available commands include: moves, turns, simple loops and conditions and additional functions such as color change, sounds, 'dance' etc.
Command sets and Qobo functions can be expanded with optional packs with extra programming cards (math, music).
In this video we unbox Qobo and show you basic features - in a (hopefully) fun way!
