Surprisingly incredible shmup despite of how it may look at first. Though that is to be expected from the creators of Suguri and Sora. The game is incredibly fun to play and it also has a very good and involved scoring system.
Super is the hardest difficulty in the game and since the scoring system revolves around bullet cancelling this mode is obviously the best for scoring.
There are 28 shottypes to choose from in the game and you can use three different ones during a run. Hard to use shottypes give you a scoring advantage since kills give you extra stars.
The Catapult I'm using is +2 stars and the others +1.
Speaking of the Catapult you can place it anywhere on the screen and you change it's direction by focusing and then moving right or left. It's somewhat tricky to use since you can't focus when you want it to remain stationary but your movement speed during it is slow enough that it isn't that much of a problem.
The Parasol shottype is aimed in the opposite direction that you press.
The game has a hyper system and you can charge it by collecting green stars, once activated it increases your attack power and all green stars will turn into valuable gold stars. When activating the hyper, bullets around you will turn into gold stars and the radius of the cancel depends on how charged up the hyper is. You can activate a hyper at 100% but the maximum 150% obviously lasts longer. Getting hit during a hyper cancels the hyper and resets your chain but you do not lose a life.
Collecting stars increases your chain and the value of the stars depends on the chain counter. Green stars max out at 100 points at a 100 chain, small gold stars max out at a 1000 points at an 1800 chain and large gold stars max out at a 1000 points at a 500 chain.
If you don't pick up a star after a few seconds the chain resets to zero.
Star, chain values and hyper durations differ depending on whether you're using Orthodox, Aggressive or Defensive style but I think Defensive is the best for scoring since it gives you the longest hyper time.
