So the original half life engine, goldsrc, was built directly off the quake 1 engine. While I wouldn't consider this xash3d version of quake for a serious run when so many better options exist... it definitely shows that this engine was made to be extremely close to the original half life engine if it can sufficently play quake.

Just dipping into the first level of the four episodes to show the basic functionality.
