F... hell, this wasn't easy. When i first watched Nolan's demo, it seemed pretty perfect to me.
But after some consucutive viewings, it appeared to me he could've saved some seconds by RJ'ing
to the middle platform somewhere around 0:50, instead of taking the stairs. So i concluded that
theoretically, it should be possible to improve his record. The only problem was, as he pointed
out in his txt file, that in order to do so, you need *massive* amounts of luck and help from
the monsters. But hell, i decided to give it a try anyway... At first, i couldn't even get to
the exit in less then 2:00. But i kept practicing, and times kept getting better and better, and
while i was playing, i even found out a slightly different route that's just a tiny bit easier.
And then, finally, after tons and tons of tries, i managed to squeeze out a 1:17. Actually, i
only noticed the time when i had to kill that last Death Knight. I suddenly realized this was
*the one*, and got uber scared of messing up. But it appears i managed to get my nerves under
control...
It started to strike me while watching the most amazing runs out there, that those players
achieving the most impossible of times and tricks for some reason always seem to be calm as hell.
They move fluently, they jump elegantly, they seem to be doing some sort of ballet instead of
playing Quake ( watch Connor's "All of Quake" marathon if you wonna get a good idea of what i'm
talking about ). They just never, ever, seem to be in a hurry. So i've been trying to calm my
way of playing down too. Apparently, it starts to pay off!
Included, you'll also find a bunch of eggs. I especially like that Fiend on Steroïds, taking me
down in like one single movement, despite me having 200 armor and over 70 health.
