Quake - Sludge Factory (Tronyn Tribute, Pt. 2)
4Last weekend, it was announced that Quake mapper Dustin "Tronyn" Geeraert passed away. I have opted to replay four of his ""shorter"" maps in honor of his passing. I am not actively going for secrets, as I don't really remember where a lot of the secrets are in his maps.

This is part 2, a two-map pack which is notable, at least to me, for using an industrial theme, something Tronyn didn't really seem to do a whole lot.
There is another notable thing about this one, which is the main reason I picked it out, that being that this pack uses the Drake mod, which comes with a lot of new items, monsters, and powerups, and has some notable gameplay changes like a faster super nailgun and rebalanced shotguns. Drake is not used very often, most of the maps made for it are Tronyn's maps, with two exceptions I can think of at the moment being a light remix of Gloom Keep, and Orl's massive pack "Ter Shibboleth: Drake Redux"
Tronyn seemed to be very fond of the Drake mod, as a good chunk of his maps and packs use it in some form, and the use of Drake in his maps/packs seemed kind of divisive.
My personal take is that Drake is a weird albeit fine mod for what it is. I do think sometimes Tronyn would go a bit overboard with the monster usage whenever Drake was involved, in particular he seemed to gravitate toward spamming Imps and Nemesants, which are present in the mod but absent in this pack (The Nemesants come up in Part 3, but it's not related to Drake).
You can still find the devkit for Drake. I'll be providing links to Drake and its 'beta' versions below (in the comments) for the curious. I've considered making a map with Drake a few times because it, Violent Rumble and the Keep Mod that's used for Mjolnir all seem like they would be great candidates for horde or slaughter maps, due to the sheer amount of stuff they add, but I dunno what exactly I would want to make.
