“Incorporeality” is a metaphysical analysis of matter and spirit. A meditative soundscape that is an aid in inducing "Henosis" to the listener. It is encouraged to listen to this album in complete darkness while laying down or in a comfortable sitting position. The sounds of this record were generated by the MOOG Subsequent 25 leading into the BOSS DD-8 digital delay pedal. “Incorporeality” is pure analog synthesis designed to evoke a transcendental state of being.
The goal of this record was threefold: To further progress my understanding and experience with analog synthesizers. Emphasize the power and beauty of the Moog Subsequent 25, as well as create a record with entirely one hardware synthesizer. And to create a drone record that would be a catalyst for altered states of consciousness and introspective meditation.
This is Quasar’s first record to be completely recorded with a hardware synthesizer solely. This limitation allowed for a more organic/stream of consciousness type of drone that was recorded live and very naturally as well. The artwork, which I have the absolute pleasure of thanking Don Dixon for letting me use, is a physical representation of the void of chaos we inhabit. The cerulean, fractal like anomaly is a manifestation of mankind’s awareness and multilayered psychic makeup, that somehow came to be out of the ocean of chaos that is our observable universe. The track listings as well act as a theme or “guide” to be reflected upon and pondered.
The simplicity and minimalistic nature of “Incorporeality” is also an homage to drone music of all kinds. I wanted to create a piece of art that was more for meditation and sleep than active and lively for entertainment. From the Scottish bagpipe tradition to the strumming Indian tanpura, drone is deeply ingrained in human history and culture. The ocean itself creating vibrations of waves crashing, to the humming of the wind and the movement of tectonic plates. This album is a transmitter of esoteric experience and occult knowledge. . .
