Quest 3 is FANTASTIC for PC VR! // Is This The Best Value PC VR Headset?
2,553If you currently have a Quest 2 then the Quest 3 is a HUGE upgrade for your PC VR experience! The resolution & FOV increase on Quest 3, paired with a smaller form factor, larger IPD range & a mind blowing Virtual Desktop update make it feel like a true next generation leap forwards from the PC VR performance of the Quest 2 & it's easy to recommend if you're someone looking for a decently priced but high quality VR headset to replace Meta's previous efforts. However if you're coming from Pico 4, Quest Pro or even some PC VR focused devices like the Valve Index or HP Reverb G2 then the differences will likely be minimal and your decision will come down to whether or not you want the MR features & highest quality standalone VR gaming experiences that Quest 3 provides. For me, someone who has used Quest 2 as his daily driver for PC VR since 2020, the Quest 3 is a PC VR upgrade far beyond what I was expecting; my only gripes really are the lack of display port, the contrast between light and dark colours/areas could be better and the stock strap simply isn't good enough which means you'll need to fork out for something better.
This Quest 3 PC VR gameplay / Quest 3 PCVR gameplay was captured on a PC running an RTX 4090 GPU, all games are running on max settings except for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
