This is something I see over and over again in people's comments. It doesn't bug me when I see them because I know it's opinionated, but I do want to know where this "standard" came from. I'm really curious.

Annotation corner:
0:23 No, I'm not saying your opinion is stupid. XD
1:12 I'm not saying walkthroughs by people who don't talk during them are bad by any means and aren't actually worth watching. That was bad wording on my part. I meant that they just don't set themselves apart in times where they could instead of following some unwritten rule of sorts
1:27 To those who may not get the point, I'll summarize: Why do some people think no one should talk during a cutscene no matter what even if it would be original or add to the video/cutscene/game whatever.

Why can't people talk during cutscenes? If people don't, their videos will be done in the exact same way as others who believe in this silly "rule" of sorts. Yes, I KNOW that they say they can talk in other places and that is where they could stand out, but I'm talking about their videos as a whole. I don't believe it's worth making videos to some standards when often enough your videos will end up feeling the same as others. So, you then end up having a bunch of stock videos roaming around the site that have little to no personality.

For example: Let's say you and another person stood out really well on the gameplay portion but not talked during cutscenes. Who's videos do you watch? Do you watch both of them because you like both of them? If you chose 1, what was the deciding factor? If between 2 people one talked during cutscenes and the other didn't, but both of them still stood out, wouldn't that make the person that talked more about more things be the person you would want to watch?

I know some people believe that it's the game they want to watch or what others want to watch and the person making the videos is a afterthought to them, but if that was the case, they would be watching videos with NO commentary. It's illogical.

Enjoy!
