21Soul Of Samurai was Konami take on Resident Evil but with a changed theme ... Swords and magic then guns ... Feudal Japan then Raccoon City ... did it worked well , i can say it was a mix bag ... from an awful D-pad control system to this sudden charm that Resident Evil games had (the unknown thing, a story that makes you interested )... the thing was those games where designed for fun, this to torture you ... combat system was sub-par , blocking and paring works 60% of the time ... and the Gui/map/weapon changing feels so sluggish
Its one of those PlayStation One era game that was ruined by its difficulty ... and a genre 180 turn : you start as a Survival Horror adventure, that slowly turns into an Action game ... like Onimusha
Thats right ... did you see the similarities ?
That brings us to : When a idea game from a ps1 Konami game from 1999 , was reinvented by Capcom in 2001 as Onimusha ... guess now you know from where Keiji Inafune "Took" the concept for his game that sold MILLIONS
