Quick Review of The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk
23Hey guys, AlteredCalyx here and today we’re going to do a quick review on The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. This review is based on my first playthrough on the default difficultly.
This turn-based RPG was full of funny dialogue and fun combat tactics. There were some new-to-me combat strategies such as taking cover, giving/receiving support, and directional positioning. Once I became familiar with the game mechanics I couldn’t wait to encounter more battles. It was a lot of fun.
There were riddles and puzzles that weren’t too bad to figure out. There was only one puzzle that baffled me and it turned out to be a secret boss fight.
It was a relatively short game and I fnished It In ~45 hrs. This time also included re-learning the game after taking a 3 month break due to COVID pneumonia.
It’s not a new game (it released Sept 2020) so there’s no rush to play it. Put it on your wish list and grab it when it goes on sale. Also, there weren’t too many bugs for a relatively smooth playthrough. I look forward to playing the DLCs.
TLDR;
I enjoyed playing this game and I’d say it's worth your time.

Beyond the hilarious universe it is set in, the game is above all designed as an ambitious Tactical RPG, drawing inspiration from classics such as Baldur’s Gate, Divinity: Original Sin and X-Com.
