Quick Tip: Upgrading the H&K MP5 Rear Sight
It took absolutely zero persuasion to get Brownells Gun Tech™ Keith Ford to tell us more about one of his all-time favorite firearms: the H&K MP5. Today, Keith shows us how to do one of the easiest and best upgrades you can make to your MP5 / SP5 - swapping out the basic factory rear drum sight for a more precise diopter-style drum. This upgrade works not only on an original MP5 / SP5 and many clones, but also on any roller lock Heckler & Koch with the notched rear drum sight. You'll need an H&K Rear Sight Tool and the PH2 driver bit from a Magna-Tip® screwdriver set. After the obligatory "weapon clear" check, Keith shows us how to use the sight tool and the PH2 bit to remove the factory drum and install the new diopter drum. You'll need to adjust the drum up or down for point of impact, but when you've got it dialed in, your MP5 is gonna sing!
