R:RACING EVOLUTION was released as a spiritual successor to Ridge Racer franchise and was released on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube in June 2003. The game is considered to be the clone to Gran Turismo 4 which came out 1 year after R:Racing Evolution. The game has a total of 36 cars across 8 different classes, including Saleen S7R, Esso Ultraflo Supra and Calsonic R34GTR 2000 on GT1 Class, Advan Kondo S101, Kanata Konoe's Audi R8 LMP1 2001, and Mia Taylor's Bentley Speed 8 in Prototype Class, FIAT 500 and Alpine 1600S on Privateer Class, and Ford Focus and Dodge Charger Hot Rod on Drag Class. The game has 14 tracks including Phillip Island, Suzuka, Yokohama, and Las Vegas Drag Strip. The game itself despite received middling reviews, many considered it to be an underrated game thanks to its 14-Chapter "RACING LIFE" career mode, solid race actions and the Pressure Bar System, which drivers can force another driver into a mistake by staying behind another driver and filling the bar in the process.
