R-Type Final (2003/2004) Playthrough (PS2)
1Ok folks, I've been meaning to record a game playthrough all since since December 2024, now I've finally had my chance. This playthrough is to R-Type Final on the Playstation 2, originally released in July 2003 in Japan and February 2004 in North America. I bought my copy on eBay back in March 2025 and what can I say, this is my favorite R-Type game. I enjoy this one more than R-Type Final 2, which I have on my Switch. I also own the R-Type 2 pack on the SNES distributed by Retro Bit. This game has decent graphics, a good soundtrack and good gameplay overall. I think you should check out this solid title. I have yet to beat this game as I only made it up to the stage 4 boss although I the farthest I've made it was stage 5 and I believe that's halfway through this game. I believe there are either 8 or 9 stages in this game. Yes, I did die a few times but I had plenty of continues, but beat the first stage flawlessly with some practice on easy difficulty. I think you will like this one.
Oh! And guess what, I am now using my RetroTink 5X which my brother bought from RetroTink's website and a friend helped us out to pick up that thing. I must say, for $350, it's pretty good and I think the price is justified. And now we can replace our RetroTink 2X in favor of this new upscaling device.
