Some guys have asked for these kinda videos - and I was doing it anyway - so here we go.

Bit of detail. I'm CADing up the R1 crankshaft. Measurements are taken from the complete crank. I'm building each throw seperately so I can do some analysis on each section and as a whole. I'm also building each section along the same plane - it just makes it easier, then I can rotate each section independently.

Part 2 will be the other half and Part 3 will be the details like the cross drilling etc. After that I might do a video of some of the set-up for the simulation - but that video I'll talk through it.

This took 1 hr 36 minutes to build - this is with about 10 minutes break and the measurements off the actual crank.
