The 290X was AMD's attempt on competing with Nvidia's high end Kepler cards and they certainly won in at least one category - power consumption.
As years have gone gone by, the GCN cards lost their driver support, making it harder and harder for them to run newer titles.
So today, let's see wether the beastly R9 290X with some impressive cooling can conquer at least some of the more demanding titles of recent times.
