Radeon RX 7600 & Ryzen 8000 Zen5 APUs - INSANE!! 🔥
AMD's upcoming Zen5 architecture for their mobile processors. The leaked slides suggest that AMD will be using an updated version of their RDNA graphics architecture, called RDNA3.5, which will be available with 16, 12, 8, or 4 compute units (CUs).
The Strix Point APU is expected to have up to 12 cores, and the higher-end Strix Halo (or Sarlak) APU will feature a chiplet design with up to 16 cores and up to 40 CUs. The Strix series APUs are expected to compete with Nvidia's RTX 40 series of GPUs, specifically the RTX 4070 Max-Q GPU in their 40CU configuration.
The flagship mobile chip, the successor to Dragon Range, is rumored to be called "Fire Range" and will have up to 16 cores. There is also a smaller APU called Hawk Point with up to 8 cores that is expected to launch around CES next year, but it will use the Zen4 architecture instead of Zen5.
Overall, the leaked information suggests that AMD is planning to release some powerful APUs for mobile devices that will be able to compete with discrete GPUs, specifically targeting the Apple-M series. However, it's important to note that these are just leaks, and the actual products may differ from what's been shared.
AMD board partners will showcase a Radeon RX 7600 at the upcoming Computex event, which may suggest that an affordable RDNA3 GPU could be coming in the next two months.
