RADON GAS BE GONE! - A Quick Look At Our Mitigation Setup (Description for story)
204I've been sick for a month with this persistent cough and shortness of breath issue that has prevented me from reliably making videos. Through this experience, we tested our basement for Radon Gas, and to our surprise, it was very bad down here, reading as high as 10+ pCi/L (picocuries per liter). That's more than 2X the threshold to be considered DANGEROUS! So we got this mitigated earlier this week, and I figured I would share this with you.
I definitely recommend everyone know what the radon levels are like where they live. It is everywhere, in patches, all over the world. No place on Earth is just "we don't have it here," and the only way to know if you are breathing in this radioactive gas, is to test for it. It's tasteless, odorless, invisible. I have a link below to the tester I use. It's very accurate, and while it is more expensive than other testing methods, you don't have to mail in anything with this one, and it constantly monitors it wherever you place it, with a long lasting battery.
