An increasing number of RAF volunteers are helping the Ambulance Service respond to 999 calls. The volunteers are specially trained to deal with a wide range of illnesses. In southern England, where the South Central Ambulance Service is based, there are 56 trained military volunteers who can respond to calls across four counties. British Forces News reporter Rebecca Fleckney followed Flt Lt Phil Edwards and SAC James Conolly from RAF High Wycombe on their shift.
