Raiden was produced by Seibu Kaihatsu in 1990. In the year 2090, Earth has suddenly become the target of deranged aliens. Following the invasion, a new cutting-edge weapon, the Raiden Supersonic Attack Fighter, based on the destroyed alien craft, is created for humanity's hope for survival. You go through a total of 8 stages while shooting down tanks, ships, etc. Each stage have a boss at the end you must defeat before going to the next stage. You can pick up a Red (Spread Bullets) and Blue (Laser) firepower. The more firepower you collect, the stronger your firepower gets. Lastly, you can collect Bombs as well. After going through 8 stages, the player will start over at the first stage again, which the game will become more difficulty
