This video explains the benefits of kicking and how to use it to your advantage in Railroader. With the AI engineer you as conductor/breakman can issue commands to your engineer to assist both in kicking and other switching operations while you handle the switches, uncouple and couple up cars, and set the switches while planning out moves and managing the yard. It is a rewarding experience and Railroader is one of the first simulations I've discovered that has this ability builit right into early access where you can get started right away switching yards like a pro.
