Ranked: Purge plays Clockwerk
289Clockwerk has been a main stay of the Dota 2 pro circuit for quite a while due to his very valuable skillset. He's pretty tanky, he has good damage output in the right circumstances, but very importantly, he's great at initiating and disrupting teamfights through area control.
In the lane during the first few creep waves, Clockwerk can be a bit limited in what he can do. If you can separate enemies by themselves in the jungle, then chase downs with Battery Assault is really effective! But most of the time heroes are playing in lane and are therefore protected from your damage because of the nearby creeps.
In this game I got Rocket Flare at level 1 because it would help us secure creeps that would otherwise get denied. And even though our Windranger didn't get them, the experience they provide helps us hit level timings against our opponents.
From there you can adjust your itemization to fit the game. As a support, cheap regen from Tranquils is mandatory so that I can heal up after a teamfight. My urn purchase helps there too. Lots of generic stats I need(armor and mana regen), but it also lets me heal up after a gank, or use as a strong nuke to score kills.
Itemization afterwards usually adjusts based on what you're up against. Glimmer Cape rush saved me a TON of headache in a few fights, as did extra magic resistance. But most Clockwerks go for Aghs these days because it allows you to pressure very effectively even against hard to catch opponents!
