There are so many amazing characters in the Super Mario Universe, but at the same time, there are some that are, well, Baby Mario. Let's take a look at & rank some of our favorite Mario Characters.

Yoshi
What is not to love about this sweet dino? He's Mario's trusted companion starting in Super Mario World, he cares for Baby Mario, and has an amazing singing voice. We love Yoshi and can't wait for his next adventures.

Bowser, King of the Koopas
He's the baddie we all love to hate, Bowser has been there since the first Super Mario Bros game. Is he a lizard? Is he a turtle? Is he a dinosaur? No one knows, but one thing for sure is that he has an unhealthy sort of obsession with kidnapping Peach. And singing about her. Peaches, Peaches, Peaches. Peaches, Peaches, Peaches. PEACHES!

King Wart
Wart was one of the only non-Koopa villains and he hasn't made an appearance since Super Mario Bros 2, or Doki Doki Panic if you prefer. Definitely one of Mario's greatest rivals, and totally not obsessed with Princess Peach, we'd love to see Wart make a return.

WaLuigi
So I get it, we have Wario, Mario's negative, or Agent Smith, so Luigi needed one too. The thing is he's kind of... well, he's lame. I've never really liked the character and he felt like lazy creative and somewhat slapdash. I'm just not a fan, sorry.

MIPS
This &*$@#*& Rabbit. One of the worst parts of an otherwise masterpiece in Mario Galaxy, MIPS made you chase him around to catch. He was annoying, and worse, he's made his way into other games too. He needs to become Hassenpfeffer!

Baby Mario
Yoshi's Island is such a brilliant game except for one thing. Baby. Flipping. Mario. This turdbomber has to scream and cry every time Yoshi gets hit, and it partially ruins an amazing title. I love this game but hat Baby Mario.

Mario
It's-a Me, MARIO! Who doesn't love our favorite plumber from Brooklyn? He's the glue that keeps this universe together, whether he's wearing a cape, turning into a statue, or wearing a catsuit. While he started out as Jump Man, Mario has been an unrivaled mascot for almost 40 years, rivaling the likes of Mickey Mouse. He has become the face of Nintendo, and for many, the face of video games.
