Rarities In Gaming: Episode 1 - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 (PS1)

Hello and welcome to WeCanPlayToo's first ever series! Rarities In Gaming follows games that have slipped under the radar, lost in translation or early betas that practically nobody owns.
This first episode showcases the underrated PlayStation One version of THPS4 and compares it with the 'full version', that is to say the version that was released on PS2, Xbox and PC, and the one that most gamers grew to love. Why is it rare? It was only on Australian shelves for less than a year! The PS1 version, however lacking in features, was still an extremely solid game and to me was reminiscent of THPS2 - by far a high point in the series. Although the controls were skittish, the frame rate was terrible and the graphics blocky and bad even for PSOne standards - it was still a great game.
Now, to all those flamers who think I suck at THPS. This is not a video to demonstrate my skills. Also, on the old-gen consoles, the THPS engine was extremely tight and the controls suck. (Although if you want sucky controls, I'd suggest playing THPS2 on iPhone. A mate of mine, a THPS veteran nearly broke his iPod touch in frustration trying to play it). It's been a long while since I played THPS, and besides, for skating games I've got EA Skate on Xbox 360 =)
