Rasa Amrita: Navrasa Workshop | Priyadarshini Ghosh | #sangamtalks
Arts and Culture marks the existence of the civilisational values and the quality and refinement of this art shows the refinement of the culture itself. Bharat, the land where civilisation first began, has a very exquisite and rich history of art forms and the Rasa-Bhava system is the spine of the Indic art forms. In this talk, Priyadarshini Ghosh, a renowned Indian classical and contemporary dancer, takes us through the history, development, nature and working of these Bhavas and Rasas.
About The Speaker:
Priyadarshini Ghosh is an Indian classical and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and a dance scholar. A diploma holder of performing arts from the Children's Little Theatre in Kolkata, Priyadarshini has also received an Singer Mani award from Sur Singer Samsad, Mumbai. In 2003, Priyadarshini was the International Choreographer in Residence at the American Dance Festival at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.
She is an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and has been featured on CNN International - Inside Asia. Combining this with her training in some modern dance techniques, in particular Improvisation and Contact Improvisation, and exploring new dance movements, she creates a genre that is contemporary in its outlook, dealing with issues that are of relevance to today's world.
