Ratchet and Clank 2016 is a remake of the original 2002 release and tie-in to the movie which released afterwards. Developed by Insomniac and published by Sony in mid-April 2016, Captain Quark tells Ratchet and Clank's story of how they rose to be heroes. The story is told a bit differently, however; Ratchet is a mechanic working for Grimroth Razz, a new character; the Galactic Rangers are introduced here and are new characters, not robots; Quark isn't working for Drek from the beginning; Nefarious is introduced as an organic lifeform with a different origin story as to how he became a robot; various destinations are merged, some characters don't appear at all; and some plot points are straight-up new, just to name a few examples. Also, this game introduces weapons that were introduced after the first entry in the series, like Mr. Zurkon, the Buzz Blades and the Warmonger. Raritanium also makes an appearance here, taking the same role as Into the Nexus, being used to purchase some weapon upgrades. Ratchet and Clank 2016 is available on the PlayStation store for $19.99.
