I HATE this boss fight. Compared to the other epic boss fights in the series, this one comes off as nothing short of just being cheap. There are so many unavoidable things in this fight like those mines he puts down on the platforms. Somehow, they pull you down to the ground. And by the time you try to destroy them, something else hits you or they blow up twice and do two hits. Nefarious was a much more fun boss fight in Up Your Arsenal. And speaking of which, he shouldn't be the final boss in this anyway. It should have been Drek.

Overall rating: 7/10

I feel that this game did a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong. The re-imagined levels from the original game are mostly well done, the voice acting is on point as usual, and the music is still quality. The gameplay is a mixed bag for me. It's not as well done as the original. You can barely see the enemies' bullets, enemies can hit you out of nowhere, certain weapons feel completely useless, and the new enemies aren't as memorable as before. I also feel that they should have implemented all of the old weapons into the game too since this was supposed to be a remake. There's also a lot of planets from the original missing. Certain ones like Orxon and the Drek's space station from the first game should have definitely been present here because of how important they are to the story. And speaking of Drek, they COMPLETELY RUINED him. In the first game, he was a cunning, evil, corporate villain who didn't mess around and didn't accept nonsense. The new Drek is the complete opposite. He's overly goofy and his eyes (along with the rest of the blarg) have been normalized now, which makes them all look weird. He's not even the final boss. Nefarious should have been saved for sequels. The galactic rangers are barely in the game too. So, there's hardly any connection to them. Basically, the original did it better. But, this isn't all bad. It just lacks the impact that the original game had.
