RATCHET & CLANK REVIEW
The return to the series is a journey worth jumping back into, this remake of the original Ratchet & Clank only adds to the PS2 classic, our Lombax and his little friend Clank look better than ever, with the R&C debut on PS4, the series lives up to modern games in terms of visuals and action.
Ratchet & Clank is an amazing experience that will please fans of the series and newcomers, the story is both interesting and touching, the villain of the game could get a little more screen time for better character development, but that being said, he does have quite a few minutes on screen which will explain his motives in the most basic manner. He's just a mad bad guy in short.
those that have not played the original game will be truly suprised by the plot twists in the game and suprising moments in the story, I will not discuss these points in the game since this is a spoiler-free review, but you will enjoy the story!
the game offers a wide variety of weapons, enough to give the player his/her own way of playing the game, you can take out enemies from a distance or up close, or call minions to take them out for you, all these options are up to you. I love how rewarding all the exploring is, you might check an area behind a tiny obstacle only to find a holocard or gold bolt, the exploring is truly well paid and also motivating, i found myself wanting to explore the game as much as possible only to unlock the hilarious skins or cheat codes in the game.
Is the game perfect though? no, it has a dated gameplay which didn't evolve much since Ratchet & Clank 3 Up Your Arsenal, the game is not a full price game for a reason, the campaign will only last about 8-10 hours of game time, once you're done you can explore the areas or go into Challenge Mode which is basically New Game+, if you're going for 100% then you will take about 15 hours or maybe even 20 hours with the game, depending on your playstyle.
I completed the game on Hard Mode and It's quite challenging, the difficulty didn't feel too hard or too easy, it feels just right on Hard mode so that is the difficulty any fan of the series should go with, I loved the game and every new planet, I only wish it lasted a little longer, maybe an extra planet or two would do the job, I can't wait to see the next adventure in the series, I hope Insomniac sticks with the series.
