2Lowering the difficultly because 2016's version of "Ultra-Violence" is actually 1993's version of "NIGHTMARE".
If its one thing that the 1993 DOS game's have taught me is that the best difficulty to play on was "Ultra-Violence" which was the second most difficult setting in the game. This is where you're get the most challenge while still having fun and enjoying the game. So since then i've always played the second most difficult setting in every game i play (which usually ends up being "normal" in most games as difficulty settings have been muted to a basic 3 tier system) so as to get the most fun out of a fair challenge, and since "Nightmare" and "Ultra-Nightmare" modes are mostly just challenge modes in DOOM 2016, that technically means "Ultra-Violence" is the highest default difficulty and "Hurt me Plenty" is the de-facto choice difficulty for equal parts fair challenge and fun factor.
