I was planning on trying this out later on myself, but since this is a request by Cheeseoman, I slapped together a quick test to see if it works.

4 attempts total were made from a fresh new game.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Cutscene with Clark is going to trigger no matter where you try to fly. I went forwards, I went back into the shell area and it still triggered. I think that's kinda weird because how would it know where he is to start it?

Technically speaking, as soon as I enter the second area, if I were to use cheats and clip through the walls there, I would probably trigger the cut-scene from there.

I think I might have to do more testing but it doesn't look like it's going to work too well.
