Here is a short story about the dangers of playing in the road, set in a comical and illustrative tone. This is "Toad on the Road: A Cautionary Tale" by Stephen Shaskan.

Toad is inadvertently giving a lesson on road safety. I recommend doing what the adults are saying... get off the road! What would happen if his mama was there? Well, I guess we'll find out!
