Real-time Roguelite with Pause - TheMidcoreGamer Plays Remnants of the Rift - Part 1 (Gameplay)
I love roguelites but I really suck at this one, the isometric map just messes with my already poor sense of direction, namely differentiating left and right... it always takes me a second longer than most to tell you the answer lol.
That being said, I really enjoyed RT games with pause - like Aarklash Legacy - and I think it's commendable that this game implemented the system really well, despite seemingly retro-fitting it to fit controllers (I noticed the lack of mouse options like why can't I choose a skill to use using my cursor?).
The story seems rather vague at first, but I think that's intentional. The game expects you to play, progress, and eventually, unlock all parts of the story. It's also interesting that the game is set in a retro-futuristic world rather than simply in some cyberpunk one (note that although the protagonist has cyborg arms, she and her friend still travel in a relatively retro car).
