Recording Windows 8 Desktop With Fraps and XSplit
UPDATE: It seems XSplit has decided to end the fun. They are restricting revenue generating content to only being allowed with a premium license. Booo. Also, it seems that FRAPS no longer works to capture the screen capture produced by XSplit Broadcaster. I anticipated this and will keep you posted on any new ideas or workarounds. The first one does sort of kill the idea since I have no intention of buying a premium license and still intend to produce revenue generating content. I guess I could argue that my content would actually have to generate revenue to be in violation of that term of service.
Until now, I could never record a web browser or my desktop with FRAPS on Windows 8. I found XSplit Broadcaster and that changed everything. Now, I can record Firefox, Chrome, IE, or any application on my desktop using XSplit to capture the screen source and FRAPS to record it.
